Meet the client.
O’Neill is one of the world’s most recognised surf and snowboard brands, founded by Jack O’Neill in 1956.
O’Neill Europe needed a set of websites to support a series of major international surf and snowboard events, delivering live coverage and real-time updates to a global audience.
The key challenge was enabling their team to update event websites quickly and easily from remote locations, including beaches, mountain resorts, and even boats in the middle of the Pacific ocean.
The project.
What we did
We developed a custom content management system (CMS) designed specifically for O’Neill’s needs. It allowed their teams to:
- Broadcast live event footage
- Upload news, video, photos, and competition results
- Manage updates from any location with an internet connection
- Deploy new websites quickly by re-skinning the CMS for each event
The reusable CMS architecture reduced the need for repeated development work and ensured consistent functionality across all event sites.

- O’Neill Big Mountain Pro – Snowboard freeride event, the Alps
The result
The project enabled O’Neill Europe to deliver reliable, timely updates and global live coverage of their events, while also streamlining the management of multiple websites over several years.
Although the events have since ended and the sites are no longer live, much of the original event coverage remains available through the O’Neill TV YouTube channel.
